Coronavirus: 65 patients die, 4509 new cases in JK

Srinagar, May 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Wednesday witnessed 65 deaths due to Covid-19 while 4,509 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 51,542.
With 65 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 2,912 and the active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 4,509 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 229,407. The big jump in the positive cases and the mortality continue to come amid lockdown across J&K UT.
Of the exact number of 229,407 cases, 141,412 are from Kashmir division and 87,995 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 4,509 new cases, 2,750 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,759 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 141,412 including 106,693 recoveries and 1,615 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 87,995 including 68,260 recoveries and 1,297 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 51,542 including 33,104 from Kashmir division and 18,438 from Jammu division.
With 3,603 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 174,953 which is 76.26 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 846 from Srinagar, 361 from Baramulla, 322 from Budgam, 282 from Pulwama, 171 from Kupwara, 198 from Anantnag, 85 from Bandipora, 52 from Ganderbal, 269 from Kulgam and 58 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,708 from Jammu division include 658 from Jammu, 156 from Udhampur, 208 from Rajouri, 81 from Doda, 251 from Kathua, 101 from Samba, 52 from Kishtwar, 87 from Poonch, 67 from Ramban and 103 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 65 deaths reported today, 18 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in GN Hosp (MCH Wing GMC), 02 in AKG Kathua, 02 in CD Hosp Jmu, 02 in GMC Kathua, 06 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in DH Udhampur, 01 in DH Ramban, 01 in CH Udhampur, 01 in CHC Kandi, 01 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in GMC Doda, 01 in CHC Kalakote, 01 in SSH Jmu, 07 in Home/ Brought Dead, 03 in SKIMS Soura, 02 in SMHS Sgr, 04 in DH Pulwama, 01 in CD Hosp Sgr, 03 in JLNM Sgr 01 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 02 in GMC Anantnag, 02 in CHC Kupwara & 01 in DH Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 55,544 positive cases including 639 deaths and 44,150 recoveries are from Srinagar, 17,305 including 213 deaths and 13,001 recoveries are from Baramulla, 14,844 including 10,848 recoveries and 146 deaths are from Budgam, 9,746 including 7,217 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Pulwama, 8,788 including 112 deaths and 7,055 recoveries are from Kupwara, 10,759 including 6,717 recoveries and 129 deaths are from Anantnag, 6,499 cases including 5,602 and 71 deaths are from Bandipora, 6,546 including 5,455 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Ganderbal, 7,135 including 3,716 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,246 including 2,932 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 41,818 including 33,372 recoveries and 738 deaths are from Jammu district, 7,984 including 6,481 recoveries and 85 deaths are from Udhampur, 7,224 including 4,180 recoveries and 108 deaths are from Rajouri, 4,437 including 3,671 recoveries and 72 deaths are from Doda, 6,613 including 4,947 recoveries and 85 deaths are from Kathua, 5,096 including 3,456 recoveries and 72 deaths are from Samba, 3,333 including 2,990 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kishtwar, 3,864 including 2,892 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Poonch, 3,418 including 2,746 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ramban and 4,208 including 3,525 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,932,873 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 84,984 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 51,542 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,661,173 persons have completed the surveillance period and 132,262 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,775,092 samples are available. Out of 7,775,092 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,545,685 while as 229,407 have tested positive, among them 51,542 persons are active, 174,953 persons have recovered and 2,912 persons have died.
