Coronavirus: 62 patients die, 3,969 fresh positive cases in JK

Srinagar, May 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Wednesday witnessed 62 deaths due to Covid-19 while 3,969 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 50,494.
With 62 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,355 and 3,969 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 255,888. The big jump in the positive cases and the mortality continue to comes at a time when J&K is under tight grip of Carona Curfew since April 29.
Of the exact number of 255,888 cases, 156,696 are from Kashmir division and 99,192 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 3,969 new cases, 2,594 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,375 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 156,696 including 125,390 recoveries and 1,784 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 99,192 including 76,649 recoveries and 1,571 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 50,494 including 29,522 from Kashmir division and 20,972 from Jammu division.
With 4,338 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 202,038 which is 78.96 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 675:from Srinagar, 371 from Baramulla, 411 from Budgam, 171 from Pulwama, 190 from Kupwara, 311 from Anantnag, 113 from Bandipora, 118 from Ganderbal, 149 from Kulgam and 85 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,375 from Jammu division include 493 from Jammu, 154 from Udhampur, 142 from Rajouri, 64 from Doda, 158 from Kathua, 112 from Samba, 25 from Kishtwar, 106 from Poonch, 68 from Ramban and 53 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 62 deaths reported today, 17 died in GMC Jammu, 02 in AKG Kathua, 01 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in CH Udhampur, 04 in GMC Kathua, 03 in GH Gandhi Nagar Jmu, 01 in ASCOMS Jmu, 01 in DH Udhampur, 03 in MH Satwari, 02 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in CHC Katra, 04 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in SKIMS Soura, 07 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in Army Hosp, 03 in DH Bandipora, 01 in DH Ganderbal, 01 in DH Kulgam, 01 in Trauma Hosp Bijbehara, 01 in GMC Baramulla, 02 in CD Hosp Srinagar & 04 in JLNM Sgr.
As per officials figures, 59,866 positive cases including 709 deaths and 51,829 recoveries are from Srinagar, 18,723 including 229 deaths and 15,709 recoveries are from Baramulla, 17,263 including 12,805 recoveries and 156 deaths are from Budgam, 11,185 including 8,613 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Pulwama, 9,806 including 127 deaths and 7,915 recoveries are from Kupwara, 12,242 including 7,815 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Anantnag, 7,337 cases including 6,242 and 81 deaths are from Bandipora, 7,284 including 6,156 recoveries and 65 deaths are from Ganderbal, 8,263 including 4,737 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,727 including 3,569 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 45,850 including 37,086 recoveries and 884 deaths are from Jammu district, 9,496 including 7,550 recoveries and 106 deaths are from Udhampur, 8,465 including 4,890 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Rajouri, 4,895 including 3,808 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Doda, 7,746 including 6,303 recoveries and 108 deaths are from Kathua, 5,955 including 3,622 recoveries and 92 deaths are from Samba, 3,637 including 3,205 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,512 including 3 068 recoveries and 68 deaths are from Poonch, 3,985 including 3,135 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Ramban and 4,651 including 3,982 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 1,992,257 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 75,782 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 50,494 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,734,843 persons have completed surveillance period and 127,783 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,045,445 samples are available. Out of 8,045,445 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,789,557 while as 255,888 have tested positive, among them 50,494: persons are active, 202,039 persons have recovered and 3,355 persons have died.
