Coronavirus: JK records 48 deaths, 3408 positive cases

Srinagar, May 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Saturday witnessed 48 deaths due to Covid-19 while 3,408 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 49,136.
With 48 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached 3,513 and 3,408 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 267,313.
Of the exact number of 267,313 cases, 163,910 are from Kashmir division and 103,403 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 3,408 new cases, 2,157 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,251 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 163,910 including 133,129 recoveries and 1,844 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 103,403 including 81,535 recoveries and 1,669 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 49,136 including 28,937 from Kashmir division and 20,199 from Jammu division.
With 4,117 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 214,664 which is 80.30 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 509 from Srinagar, 237 from Baramulla, 273 from Budgam, 175 from Pulwama, 202 from Kupwara, 224 from Anantnag, 112 from Bandipora, 132 from Ganderbal, 241 from Kulgam and 52 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,251 from Jammu division include 490 from Jammu, 150 from Udhampur, 119 from Rajouri, 43 from Doda, 138 from Kathua, 82 from Samba, 15 from Kishtwar, 59 from Poonch, 128 from Ramban and 27 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 48 deaths reported today, 10 died in GMC Jammu, 02 in GMC Doda, 03 in GMC Kathua, 03 in GMC Rajouri, 03 in MH Satwari, 01 in NHS Jhallandhar, 01 in DH Reasi, 01 in DH Poonch, 02 in PGI Chandigarh, 01 in DH Ramban, 03 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in SKIMS Soura, 02 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in CHC Kupwara, 04 in GMC Anantnag, 01 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 02 in GMC Baramulla, 01 in CD Hosp Srinagar, 03 in DH Pulwama, 01 in TH Bijbehara, 01 in JLNM Sgr & 01 in CCC Pethkoot.
As per officials figures, 61,647 positive cases including 725 deaths and 54,351 recoveries are from Srinagar, 19,613 including 236 deaths and 16,561 recoveries are from Baramulla, 18,273 including 13,650 recoveries and 162 deaths are from Budgam, 11,771 including 9,292 recoveries and 152 deaths are from Pulwama, 10,418 including 133 deaths and 8,453 recoveries are from Kupwara, 13,024 including 8,235 recoveries and 148 deaths are from Anantnag, 7,769 cases including 6,497 and 83 deaths are from Bandipora, 7,658 including 6,479 recoveries and 65 deaths are from Ganderbal, 8,831 including 5,836 recoveries and 89 deaths are from Kulgam and 4,906 including 3,775 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 47,240 including 38,836 recoveries and 935 deaths are from Jammu district, 9,986 including 8,254 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Udhampur, 8,897 including 5,456 recoveries and 153 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,075 including 3,939 recoveries and 81 deaths are from Doda, 8,188 including 6,850 recoveries and 115 deaths are from Kathua, 6,317 including 3,797 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Samba, 3,737 including 3,387 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Kishtwar, 4,675 including 3,618 recoveries and 74 deaths are from Poonch, 4,438 including 3,216 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ramban and 4,850 including 4,182 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,018,101 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 74,102 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 49,136 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,757,591 persons have completed the surveillance period and 133,759 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,188,640 samples are available. Out of 8,188,640 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,921,327 while as 267,313 have tested positive, among them 48,604 persons are active, 214,664 persons have recovered and 3,513 persons have died.
