Coronavirus: JK records 37 deaths, 1525 positive cases

Srinagar, May 31: The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory on Monday witnessed 37 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 1,525 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 35,095
With 37 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 3,907 and 1,525 fresh positive cases reported on Monday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 290,465.
Of the exact number of 290,465 cases, 178,738 are from Kashmir division and 111,727 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 1,525new cases, 1,000 belong to Kashmir division while as 525 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 178,738 including 154,705 recoveries and 1,999 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 111,727 including 96,758 recoveries and 1,908 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 35,095 including 22,034 from Kashmir division and 13,061 from Jammu division.
With 4,070 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 251,463 which is 86.57 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 253 from Srinagar, 102 from Baramulla, 121 from Budgam, 77 from Pulwama, 181 from Kupwara, 88 from Anantnag, 35 from Bandipora, 46 from Ganderbal, 65 from Kulgam and 32 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 525 from Jammu division include 278 from Jammu, 25 from Udhampur, 40 from Rajouri, 64 from Doda, 13 from Kathua, 06 from Samba, 14 from Kishtwar, 29 from Poonch, 36 from Ramban and 20 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Out of 37 deaths reported today, 05 died in GMC Jammu, 01 in SSH Jmu, 01 in CH Udhampur, 01 in AKG Hosp Kathua, 01 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in ASCOMS Jmu, 02 in GMC Doda, 03 in SMVDNH Katra, 01 in DMC Ludhiana, 01 in Amandeep Hosp Amritsar, 01 in Amandeep Hosp Pathankot, 02 in Home/ Brought Dead, 01 in SMHS Sgr, 02 in SKIMS JVC Bemina, 02 in SKIMS Soura, 02 in DH Bandipora, 02 in JLNM Srinagar, 02 in DH Pulwama, 01 in DCHC Nagam, 02 in GMC Baramulla & 03 in DH Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 65,163 positive cases including 771 deaths and 60,044 recoveries are from Srinagar, 21,327 including 260 deaths and 18,491 recoveries are from Baramulla, 20,236 including 17,825 recoveries and 179 deaths are from Budgam, 13,056 including 10,674 recoveries and 169 deaths are from Pulwama, 12,037 including 142 deaths and 10,031 recoveries are from Kupwara, 14,553 including 10,595 recoveries and 161 deaths are from Anantnag, 8,437 cases including 7,448 and 91 deaths are from Bandipora, 8,744 including 7,398 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ganderbal, 9,877 including 8,111 recoveries and 102 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,308 including 4,088 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 50,675 including 43,991 recoveries and 1,067 deaths are from Jammu district, 10,587 including 9,777 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Udhampur, 9,678 including 8,022 recoveries and 184 deaths are from Rajouri, 5,711 including 4,486 recoveries and 89 deaths are from Doda, 8,755 including 8,143 recoveries and 132 deaths are from Kathua, 6,731 including 5,383 recoveries and 111 deaths are from Samba, 3,989 including 3,709 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Kishtwar, 5,207 including 4,263 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Poonch, 5,088 including 4,199 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Ramban and 5,306 including 4,785 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 2,091,937 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 80,126 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 35,095 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 1,826,602 persons have completed the surveillance period and 146,207 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 8,567,159 samples are available. Out of 8,567,159 the number of samples tested negative stands at 8,276,694 while as 290,465 have tested positive, among them 35,095 persons are active, 251,463 persons have recovered and 3,907 persons have died.
