Srinagar, Aug 5: Praising Prime Minister Modi for fulfilling the dream of Shyama Prasad of “Ek Vidhan-Ek Samvidhan” by abrogating Article 370, BJP National President J P Nadda on Thursday said scrapping the special status helped to restore peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Nadda said that Kashmir is peaceful today and credit goes to historic decision. “August 5 will be etched in the memory of every Indian as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilled the long pending dream of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Ji of “Ek Vidhan-Ek Samvidhan” by abrogating Article370 in J&K and restored the paradise on this earth back to its glory.”Nadda said in a brief chat.
The BJP National President said, “It was our love towards the people of J&K. We wanted to bring the people into the mainstream. We wanted development, peace in JK.”
He said that the Prime Minister himself has said that after the delimitation exercise, elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir Union territory.
He said that democratic norms have been restored in J&K after the election to the panchayat bodies. “Elections to the block development councils and district development councils have empowered people and have strengthened democracy at the grassroots level,” he said.
He further said that as far as the restoration of peace in J&K is concerned, the situation is quite clear.
“Kashmir is peaceful today and again credit goes to the historic August 5 decision.”
On the development front, he said that development in the Union territory was and will remain the BJP government’s top priority.
“Article 370 and 35A’s abrogation is a matter of great relief for the people who faced discrimination prior to August 5, 2019.The bold decisions taken by the Prime Minister opened floodgates for investments in J&K. Now, there is a full stop on the anti-national activities. J&K has fully integrated with the rest of the country now,” Nadda added. (KINS)
