DC Ganderbal takes extensive tour of town

Ganderbal, Aug 14: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Saturday took an extensive tour of main town Ganderbal and inspected progress on various ongoing developmental projects and works executed under My Town My Pride program.
The DC inspected the progress on Main Bus Adda near SSP Office, Children Park at Fatehpora, construction site for Marriage hall and also inspected the developmental works of Qamariya Park.
While inspecting the progress of work on Main Buss Adda, the Executive Engineer R&B informed the DC that over 60 percent physical work is completed.
The DC stressed for in-time completion of the bus adda which is getting constructed at an estimated of Rs 12 crores. She asked the concerned officers to speed up the work and remove all the bottlenecks for timely construction of Buss Adda. She also directed for proper demarcation and construction of boundary wall
The DC also visited the identified site for construction of Marriage Hall which is adjacent to Qamariya Park.
While inspecting the progress of Children Park being constructed at Fatehpora, the CEO informed the DC that said park is approved at the cost of Rs 35 lakh and over 90 percent work is completed. The DC directed the CEO to complete the pending work at an earliest so that the same is thrown open for the public.
The DC also enquired about the status of plan for beautification of Town and other developmental works under My Town My Pride. The CEO informed the DC that an amount of Rs 1 crore has been allotted for major projects under MY Town My Pride.
She directed the concerned that all works should be allotted that are tendered and tendering shall be initiated in all such works in which funds are allotted besides work on such projects shall be started immediately so that they get completed within stipulated time frame.
Regarding beautification of the Town, the CEO informed the DC that the plan is finalized for which the DC asked him that the same shall be submitted to the DC office so that it can be approved by concerned authorities.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by President Municipal Council Ganderbal, Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council Ganderbal, Executive Engineer R&B and other officials concerned.
