Handwara, Sep 8: An elderly man was injured after he was attacked by a bear in North Kashmir’s Shalnard area of Handwara town.
An official said that the man identified as Muhammad Jamal Ganaie son of Mukhtar Ahmed, a resident of Harweth village in Handwara, was injured when he was attacked by the bear in an orchard in Shalnard area.
The man, who suffered injuries was rushed to nearby medical facility where doctors shifted him to District Hospital.
Meanwhile, a team of the wildlife department rushed to the spot to trace the wild bear, the official added. (KNT)
