A decade of Digital India

With administration in Srinagar taking up the measures to curb the Covid-19 from spreading, the sealing of localities after declaring the areas as containment zones, have created a fear among the masses as the measures are being taken at a time when the health experts here have predicted third Covid wave across the globe as well as in Jammu and Kashmir. The Srinagar administration has notified around 21 micro containment zones so far and imposed restrictions in these areas to prevent the cases from spreading. As per the reports, the administration has stated that despite fines, there has been a complacent approach from some sections of the people who do not adhere to the Covid protocols, the district administration Srinagar is going to act tough against the Covid violators and may face FIR. Moreover, for marriages, the district administration had directed the families to seek necessary permission for the marriage gathering as there is standing CAP on the marriage gatherings and funerals, but many people have stopped to take the permission from the district administration and are resorting to huge gatherings making the entire gathering vulnerable to infection. Nonetheless, the sealing of areas at a time of low detection of cases, has been pushing the people to the wall and has created chaos among the local dwellers. The government should consider not sealing the areas and instead taking other preventive measures like sanitizing the areas and ensuring the Covid Appropriate Behaviour are followed in spirit. The focused attention rather than creating fear among the people will certainly bear the fruit.
