Srinagar, Sep 24: As the vaccination process continues to gain momentum across Kashmir, a new trend has surfaced as dozens of people across Kashmir are getting fully vaccinated certificates even without getting vaccinated.
Official sources said that some people are producing their Aaadhar cards along with their mobile number and are getting fully vaccinated certificates even without getting vaccinated.
“It is very difficult now to find out whether a person is vaccinated or not as people are now availing certificates without getting vaccinated,” they said.
Furthermore, there are some people who have only got one shot of the vaccine but are getting messages on their registered mobile numbers that they have been fully vaccinated and can download their fully vaccinated certificates..
“Besides there are dozens of people in valley who are receiving fully vaccinated messages of other people,” officials said.
“Dear Gulzar Ahmad Buhroo, Congratulations! You have successfully completed the schedule of all doses of COVID-19 vaccine. You can download your certificate at – https://cowin.gov.in – COWIN,” was the message a resident of Kulgam received without knowing the person.
A senior doctor while said that, “if such is the case, then it is really concerning and authorities must take care of it at an earliest.”
“If an unvaccinated person gets infected, they can transfer virus to even vaccinated people,” he said.
Officials said that they have already taken up this issue with Director General Family Welfare MCH & Immunisation J&K and the necessary directions have been issued in this regard.
Director Family Welfare and Immunization wasn’t available to comment on the issue.
