DC G’bl listens to issues of PRIs of Block Lar

Ganderbal, Oct 13: As a part of the weekly Block Diwas initiative launched by the Government of J&K, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Wednesday conducted interaction programme with the PRI representatives of block Lar at Mini Secretariat, here.
During the interaction programme, Sarpanchs and Panchs of block Lar apprised the DC about various basic issues particularly improvement in water supply, lift Irrigation from Lar Canal to Bab Canal, Animal Husbandry Unit at Lar block, improvement of roads, upgradation of transformers and other demands of public importance.
The DC listened patiently to all the issues and demands put forth by the PRIs and directed the concerned officers to resolve all the issues that pertain to their domain.
Replying to the demands and issues raised, the DC said that about 250 works are authorized under District CAPEX in block Lar and all such works are tendered and most of them are also allotted. She urged PRIs to play their active role in monitoring these works and sought their cooperation so that they get completed on time.
While interacting with the PRIs, the DC congratulated them for their active support in achieving the 100 percent vaccination above 18 years and urged them to motivate the people in observing Covid Appropriate Behaviour to combat the 3rd wave of Covid.
Regarding issue of water scarcity in few areas, the DC said that 32 projects of Jal Shakti are approved under Languishing scheme which are under execution and assured them that the district administration is serious in completing these water schemes at an earliest so that portable water scarce is redressed in such areas once they are commissioned.
The officers present during the interaction program included ADDC, Pir Muzafar Ahmad, ADC, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ACD, ACP, Ex. Engineers of various wings, CMO, CEO, Tehsildar Lar, BDO and other concerned.
