Kashmir’s soul incomplete without Noon Chai

With no let up in the number of positive cases of deadly Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir, the implementation of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) in letter and spirit is the only way out to prevent the virus from spreading. Jammu and Kashmir seems to be leading to the previous situation again as the number of daily cases has gone up to 200 in the Union Territory while the death rate is also increasing rapidly. In J&K, 223 fresh positive cases and two deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, which indicates the rise in the number of cases, thus simultaneously bringing an uneasy situation on the ground again. Earlier, the Srinagar district administration imposed lockdown in 15 areas falling under five administrative wards with an aim to prevent the cases from spreading. However, one fails to understand that how come such a decision has changed the ground situation as there seems no end to the spurt in the positive cases. As already suggested by the health experts, the implementation of Covid Appropriate Behaviour is the only way to put a break on the rising cases. There are people who question the day-long show by the district administration during which a number of people were fined for violating the norms. As the people are openly violating the norms, there is a need to launch a sustainable campaign in this regard to ensure that all the suggested COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed by one and all so that the deadly pandemic is fought in the best possible way.
