Kulgam, Nov 26: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today convened a meeting of KPDCL authorities to review overall power scenario and the status of ongoing developmental works being carried out by the department under different schemes in the district.
On the occasion, the DDC inquired about the availability, demand and position of power supply in the district and also took a comprehensive review of the work on other vital projects spearheaded by the various wings of PDD under various schemes including, IPDS, PMDP, DDUGJY etc.
The DDC directed the concerned to ensure completion of works meant for augmenting power supply in the district within the given time including up-gradation works of receiving stations within the district.
He impressed upon the authorities to speed up branch cutting and augmentation of the network and to set ready the system for winters.
The meeting also reviewed the functioning of Divisional Transformer Repairing Workshop, availability of buffer stock of transformers and status of damaged transformers in the district.
While reviewing the repairing capacity of the Divisional Transformer Repairing workshop, the DDC impressed upon the concerned that the damaged transformers be replaced/repaired at an earliest.
The DDC appreciated the efforts of officers and showed his satisfaction on the overall power scenario in the whole district.
The meeting was attended by SE (KPDCL), South circle Bijbehara, CPO, Executive Engineer ED Kulgam, Executive Engineer STD Bijbehara, Executive Engineer Project Division Anantnag along with AEE/AEs, Tehsildar Headquarter and other officers from various wings of KPDCL.
