Northern Army commander visits forward areas in Poonch, reviews security situation

Poonch, Dec 2: The northern army commander Lt General Yogesh K Joshi Thursday paid a visit to Line of Control areas falling under Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, defence officials said.
In an official statement, the defence officials said that Army Commander Lt Gen Joshi visited forward areas on Line of Control.
“That commander complimented the troops for recent success in foiling infiltration attempts,” the statement said.
Official sources on the other hand said that the Army commander took a detailed review of the security scenario prevailing in the district besides the security situation on line of control.
“He was also briefed about recent infiltration attempts on line of control and present measures taken under security grid to prevent infiltration attempts as well,” the sources said.
