Rising Cyber threats in J&K

Finally, the cry for streamlining the traffic in Srinagar was heard by the administration as it started a drive to ensure smooth passage of the vehicular movement, especially the Ambulances, carrying the critical patients to Srinagar hospitals. The reports of traffic mess were being received from every road of Srinagar where commuters were being forced to remain stuck for hours together. According to the reports, the mess was mostly occurring due to the illegal car parking, occupation of roads by vendors and unauthorized stop of passenger vehicles. In a bid to remove all the obstacles, the district administration Srinagar has challaned several norm violators Wednesday and appealed the commuters to follow the traffic rules in letter and spirit. It has been observed that the people, despite having several car parking slots available, are parking their vehicles illegally, thus leaving the commuters to lurch at large. While the vendors have been allotted a space to run their business at a designated place, the rows of carts could be seen at multiple locations in Srinagar, which also hampers the vehicular movement to a large extent. As the administration has started its drive against the norm violating commuters, there is a need to understand the responsibility and park the vehicles at designated places and also run their business at allotted space, so that a civic sense would prevail among the masses and the commuters could heave a sigh of relief. Moreover, the drive must not remain a day-long show and should continue till the situation on Srinagar roads improves on the ground. The administration must involve civil society members and traders in this drive to create an awareness among the masses so that the haphazard situation could come to an end.
