Coronavirus: JK logs 178 new cases

Srinagar, Jan 3: Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported 178 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,498 while no death was reported in last 24 hours.
With no more deaths, the death toll in J&K stands at 4,530 and 178 fresh positive cases reported on Monday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 341,802.
Of the exact number of 341,802 cases, 215,358 are from Kashmir division and 126,444 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 178 new cases, 108 belong to Kashmir division while as 70 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 215,358 including 212,088 recoveries and 2,331 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 126,444 including 123,686 recoveries and 2,199 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,498 including 939 from Kashmir division and 559 from Jammu division.
With 109 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 335,774 which is 98.23 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 57 from Srinagar, 14 from Baramulla, 11 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 02 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 02 from Bandipora, 08 from Ganderbal, 04 each from Kulgam and 01 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 70 from Jammu division include 46 from Jammu division, 06 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 02 from Kathua, 04 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 01 from Poonch, 04 from Ramban and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that one fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally has reached to 51.
As per officials figures, 78,934 positive cases including 883 deaths and 77,586 recoveries are from Srinagar, 26,034 including 291 deaths and 25,588 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,527 including 24,259 recoveries and 217 deaths are from Budgam, 15,747 including 15,503 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,986 including 167 deaths and 14,761 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,744 including 16,514 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,177 cases including 10,031 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,032 including 10,862 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,558 including 11,426 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,619 including 5,558 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 54,317 including 52,814 recoveries and 1,157 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,491 including 11,330 recoveries and 139 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,387 including 11,131 recoveries and 239 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,077 including 7,879 recoveries and 137 deaths are from Doda, 9,398 including 9,229 recoveries and 153 deaths are from Kathua, 7,187 including 7,053 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,855 including 4,803 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,617 including 6,488 recoveries and 100 deaths are from Poonch, 6,081 including 6,006 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 7,034 including 6,954 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,265,733 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,825 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,498 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 4,817,412 persons have completed the surveillance period and 434,468 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 19,507,227 samples are available. Out of 19,507,227 the number of samples tested negative stands at 19,165,425 while as 341,892 have tested positive, among them 1,498 persons are active, 335,774 persons have recovered and 4,530 persons have died.
