DC Anantnag reviews status of works being executed by KPDCL

Anantnag, Jan 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr Piyush Singla reviewed the status of works being executed by KPDCL Anantnag under Dist CAPEX and Back to Village Programme.
The DC while reviewing the performance of the department lauded their efforts during the recent snowfall for timely action in restoring electricity to affected areas. He appreciated the department for its social media presence and prompt redressal of grievances.
Dr Singla fixed timelines for each division for completion of ongoing works and directed the concerned Executive Engineers to complete all works by February, 2022. Systems and Operations (S&O), JKPTCL was directed to ensure upgradation of Lisser and Gopalpora Grid stations at the earliest.
SE KPDCL Anantnag informed the chair that under District Capex, 375 works have been taken up for execution of which 70 works have already been completed and the remaining works will be completed as per fixed timelines. He said that Rs 5.83 crore have already been disbursed for the completed works.
He said that under the Back to Village program, the department has completed 32 works and 72 works are under execution.
SE, KPDCL said that the works taken up will augment the transmission infrastructure in the district. He said that any faulty transformers are being replaced/ repaired within the stipulated time frame to reduce inconvenience to consumers.
Regarding pilferage and theft of electricity, he assured that regular checks are being conducted.
The meeting was attended by CPO, Executive Engineers of KPDCL and other officials.
