Kupwara, Mar 15: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din Tuesday visited various areas of the district to take stock of different ongoing developmental works.
The DC visited Women’s Degree College Salkoot and took stock of construction of different blocks of the College.
It was informed that work is in progress and 95 percent work of Academic block has been accomplished and 40 percent physical progress is also achieved on construction of Administrative-cum-Library block. It was also informed that Rs.10.28 crore has been expended so far on the construction of the college.
Later, the DC visited Trehgam and chaired a Mission Youth Mega Awareness camp.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the ambitious Mission Youth programme of the Government is aimed to provide self-employment opportunities to the unemployed youth. He appealed to the unemployed youth to enroll themselves with the Mission Youth programme to get benefitted under various employment generating schemes and prove themselves as job givers instead of job seekers.
ADDC Kupwara also spoke and emphasized the need for getting maximum unemployed youth registered under different schemes of Mission Youth to boost employment scenario in the district.
Other Officers, PRIs and experts from Mission Youth also spoke on the occasion and gave detailed awareness to the participants about the self employment schemes.
