Srinagar, Apr 9: Union Minister for Hajj Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Saturday chaired a meeting in New Delhi and met newly appointed Hajj Committee of India members besides discussing a way forward for improving facilities of Hajj across the country.
An official privy to the meeting said that Naqvi chaired a meeting in Delhi where he met the newly appointed members of Hajj Committee of India including one new member from J&K Er Aijaz Hussain.
“The meeting discussed various issues related to Hajj-2022. The members also discussed way forward for improving facilities of Hajj across country and guided all the members for working for welfare of Muslims across country,” the official said.
Er Aijaz Hussain said that meeting was held to discuss ways and means for easing out the Hajj facilities across Kashmir. Hussain who was present in the meeting said that Hajj Ministry of Saudi Arabia has announced 10 millions pilgrims will perform Hajj this year but as of now no final quota has been announced for India. “As and when the Saudi government announces a quota for India, we will accordingly come to know about J&K’s Hajj quota.. This may take a few more days,” he said.
