Amid multi-layer security cover, PM Modi arriving in Jammu today

Jammu, Apr 23: Security and police patrolling have been beefed up in Jammu region ahead while as multi-layer security cover has been put in place as Prime Minister is all set to arrive in Samba district Sunday.
In Samba district, the PM is scheduled to address a really on Panchayat Diwas.
The venue has been taken over by Special Protection Group (SPG), Central Armed Police Force, Jammu Kashmir Police’s Crisis Response Team, Special Operation Group and JK Police officials.
Officials said that aerial surveillance and frisking was also carried out in Airport area and at at venue of PM’s scheduled rally. Extraordinary security arrangements are in place in the wake of recent encounter at Sunjwani area of Jammu where two Jaish-e-Muhammad Fidayeen were killed. DGP Dilbagh Singh had said that slain duo were wearing fidayeen vests and were tasked to sabotage PM’s rally.
The Prime Minister will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir for to address the country on the occasion of ‘Panchayati Raj Diwas’.
This would be PM Modi’s first live interaction with the people of J&K since the abrogation of Article 370. PM Modi is also scheduled to participate in the ground-breaking ceremony of multi-crore industrial projects.
During his visit, the PM will also interact with members of the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), launch industrial investments, and inaugurate or lay the foundation stones of various development projects.
As per a schedule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive at Technical Airport Jammu around 11.00 am from where he will head towards Palli Village, Samba in special chopper.
He will then participate in the ‘Panchayati Raj Diwas’ event where around 2 lakh people expected to participate.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jammu visit on Sunday is likely to push Rs 39,000 crore investments in Jammu and Kashmir in addition to Government’s policy to reach out to Panchayats across the country on Panchayati Raj Diwas.
As per officials, a UAE business delegation will also be present to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Rs 39,000 crore investment push in Jammu and Kashmir during his Sunday’s visit to the union territory.
The Prime Minister is attempting to change the narrative of the union territory ahead of elections that will take place after the delimitation exercise is completed.
Leading MNCs from UAE such as DP World, Emaar Properties, Lulu Group, Royal Strategic Partners and Wizz Financial, have pledged a total investment of about 3,000 crore in sectors such as infrastructure, IT, hospitality and food processing.
Both the regions of Jammu and Kashmir will uniformly benefit from the proposed investment in the union territory.
As per data compiled by the UT administration, 19,125 kanals of land have been allotted in Jammu region to 1,105 applicants which is expected to bring investments worth Rs 17, 968 crore.
While 19,897 kanals of land have been earmarked in Kashmir region to 3,339 applicants which is expected to bring investments worth ₹24,187 crore.
Modi will also inaugurate Banihal-Qazigund tunnel road constructed by Border Roads Organisation, lay foundation for two power projects — 850 MW in Ratle and 540 MW in Kwar — in Jammu and five expressways to be developed by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and 100 jan aushadhi kendras in UT.
A medicity is also being developed in the Jammu region by Apollo Hospitals. Security forces remain extra alert after April 22 attack on security forces in Jammu’s Sunjwan area.
PM will return back to national capital by evening.
Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, GOC Yol based Rising Star Corps,which is responsible for security of Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts , where PM will address a really camped in Jammu from last few days.
Sources said that the army officer reviewed the operational preparedness of the Tiger Division and appreciated high state of readiness and synergy between all combat and combat support elements.
Lt. General Pushpendra Singh also called on Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh at Police Headquarters and discussed the present security scenario of J&K.
During the interaction the officers discussed various aspects of security and Counter-terrorists Operations.
The overall situation in the Rising star corps area was discussed. Steps that are being taken for sustainable peace in the J&K were deliberated upon.
Singh said that there exists a great synergy and coordination with Army and CAPFs which is resulting in great dividends on anti-terror front.
