DC Baramulla presides over Mega Block Diwas at Narwa

Directs concerned authorities for timely resolution of public grievances

Baramulla, May 18: As part of Public Outreach Programme and in order to take first hand appraisal of the issues of general people at their door steps, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar Wednesday visited Sheeri Narwa where she chaired a day long Block Diwas Camp and listened various issues and demands of people meant for the overall welfare and development of the area.
The programme witnessed large participation of people from Malpora, Fatehgarah, Heevan and Gantmulla besides other adjoining areas of Tehsil Narwa.
Among others, the Public Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by Assistant Commissioner Baramulla, Yaar Ali Khan, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, G.M. Lone, Chief Medical Officer, District Information Officer Jahangir Akhoon besides other district and sectoral officers of the district.
During the Grievance Redressal Camp, Various Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues before the Deputy Commissioner and sought the timely resolution of their grievances and demands.
On the occasion, the people put forth several demands including macdamization and widening of link and main roads, Education upgradation, availability of dairy units, grazing rights in forest areas, availability of forest timber, irrigation pumps and canals.
After giving a patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the DC assured them that all their issues and demands shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal.
Addressing the gathering, the DC said that the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment for time bound redressal.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution.
