SPREAD-A mission for new destinations

The attendants are facing tremendous hardships when they take their patients to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura here from northern as well as the southern districts of Kashmir as the Ali Jan road has literally turned into ruins as the road stretch has developed potholes in large number, forcing the commuters to witness uneasy situation while passing through the road. One fails to understand why the administration, especially the concerned department has failed to ensure proper repairing or macadamization of the road as the way leads to Kashmir’s premier hospital with all the super specialties and a maternity hospital. The Ali Jan road is in shambles and passing through the road has become a chaotic process for the people, especially when they carry their patients to the hospital for treatment. It is unfortunate that the concerned authorities have not paid any heed towards the hardships being faced by the people and instead of ensuring better passage to them, the road has been consuming a lot of time to the attendants and thus delaying the treatment to their patients maximum of times. In such a way, the potholed road has become a threat to their lives as well. Therefore, the concerned authorities should come forward and take immediate and necessary steps to repair and macadamize the road so that the patients here could heave a sigh of relief and precious lives are saved. The government should also identify all the roads that lead to the hospitals across Jammu and Kashmir so that the treatment to the ailing patients is not delayed anywhere.
