Govt sets up panel for appointment of Chairman JKBOSE, Director JKSCERT

Srinagar, Jun 24: The government on Friday constituted a search committee for appointment of Chairman JKBOSE and Director JKSCERT while a separate committee was constituted for selection of Ombudsman under MGNREGA in J&K.
“In suppression of Government Order No. 257-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated 07.03.2022, sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of Search Committee for suggesting panels for appointment of Chairman, JKBOSE and Director, JKSCERT,” said an order issued by Principal Secretary to the government.
As per order Financial Commissioner (Additional Secretary), Finance Department will be chairman of the committee while as Principal Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, Principal Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu and Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir will be members of the committee.
“The Committee shall continue to be serviced by the School Education Department,” it said.
“In supersession of Government Order No.699-JK (GAD) of 2020 dated 14.07.2020 on the subject, sanction is hereby accorded to constitution of the Apex Level Selection Committee, for selection of the Ombudsman under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA, in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” reads a separate order.
As per order Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Agriculture Production Department will be chairman, Administrative Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj will be member/convener while as Representative of Union Ministry of Rural Development and an eminent Civil Society Person nominated by the Member Union Ministry of Rural Development will be members of the Committee.
“The Terms of Reference of the Committee shall be to recommend selection of Ombudsperson in each district and to recommend termination of Ombudsperson from his/her position in case of unsatisfactory performance,” it added.
“The quorum for the meeting of the selection Committee shall be considered fulfilled only if either the representative of the Ministry of Rural Development or the representative of Civil Society Organization is present,” it said.
