Srinagar, Jul 13: Acting tough against social crimes, Police in Awantipora have arrested 3 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on specific information about gambling activities in village Dooninar area of Pampore, a police party of PS Pampore raided the specific site and arrested three gamblers on the spot. They have been identified as Mehraj Ahmad Wani resident of Namblabal Pampore, Mohd Altaf Buroo resident of Frestbal Pampore and Mohd Ashraf Buroo resident of Dooninar Pampore.
Officers have seized stake money of Rs 8,500/- and playing cards from the gamblers.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 86/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pampore and investigation has been set into motion.
