Bandipora, Jul 15: Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez, who is also the Administrative Secretary for District Bandipora on Friday held a meeting at Mini Secretariat here to review the developmental scenario of the District.
The meeting was attended by Chairman District Development Council, Ab Gani; Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed; Director Tourism G N Itoo; SSP Bandipora, Mohammad Zahid; ADDC Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; ADC Bandipora, Waseem Raja; Vice Chairman DDC, Kousar Shafeeq; SE R&B, District Officers, BDCs, Sarpanchs and officials of other concerned departments.
Speaking during the meeting, Sarmad Hafeez asked the officers to prioritise the programmes of employment generation at local level so that more youth can be handholded and employability avenues are created for them. He also directed the officers that maximum awareness should be created among the youth regarding different schemes available for them for their self reliability.
The Secretary while reviewing progress of different departments, delved upon the officers that all the projects being executed in the district should be completed within the given time frames so that they can be dedicated to the public at the earliest.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner, gave a detailed presentation on developmental scenario of the district.
Giving details regarding various developmental projects, the Deputy Commissioner informed the meeting that the District has recently received National e-governance award for developing web portal to rank panchayats on developmental parameters including Health, Education, Agriculture, Skill and self employment and financial inclusion infrastructures etc.
He also informed the Secretary that District Hospital has been constructed at the cost of 33.21 cr and is functioning successfully. He said Polytechnic College has also been constructed at the cost of Rs 14 crores which is also functioning properly.
Reviewing Jal Shakti Department, the Secretary was appraised that Jal Shakti Department tendered 17 bore wells, 22- OHTs, 39 Rapid Sand Filtration Plants and 146 slow sand Filtration Plants under Jal Jeevan Mission. It was informed that District has achieved 95% target in providing Piped water supply to Schools, AWCs and Health and wellness centres etc.
Regarding R&B sector, the Secretary was informed that Aloosa-Quilmuqam road at an estimated cost of 78.44 lacs, Hajin -Khuserpora Road at an estimated cost of 46.21 lacs, Gundipreng -Bakshibal road at an estimated cost of 64.36 lacs and Ahmshareef Bhutoo road at an estimated cost of 89.27 lacs. The meeting also informed that PMGSY has taken up work for 09 major projects including Kanzalwan Bagtore Road, Neeru Sikander road and kashpot road.
Regarding PDD sector, it was given out that STD Bandipora has completed construction of 6.3 MVA receiving station along with allied 33KV line at Hakbara under languishing programme at an expenditure of Rs 3.02 cr.
