COVID surge: JK reports 531 fresh cases

Srinagar, Jul 22: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported 531 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 2,411 besides that no death was reported in the last 24 hours in UT
An official said that among 531 new cases, 243 belong to Kashmir division while as 288 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 289,701 including 286,214 recoveries and 2,425 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 169,286 including 165,601 recoveries and 2,336 deaths.
He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,411 including 1,062 from Kashmir division and 1,349 from Jammu division.
With 197 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 451,815 which is 98.43 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 531 cases today, 162 are from Srinagar, 30 from Baramulla, 12 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama 04 from Kupwara, 02 from Anantnag, 03 from Bandipora, 18 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 288 are from Jammu division that include 152 from Jammu district, 21 from Udhampur, 10 from Rajouri, 09 from Doda, 55 from Kuthua , 09 from Samba, 15 from Kishtwar, 16 from Poonch and 01 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,599,057 persons in J&K are under observation while 339 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 2,411 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,591,105 persons have completed the surveillance period and 441 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,002,440 samples are available.
“Out of 26,002,440 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,543,453 while 458,987 have tested positive, among them 2,411 cases are active, 451,815 have recovered and 4,761 persons have died,” it added.
