Coronavirus: JK logs 622 new cases

Srinagar, Aug 13: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported 622 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 4,579 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,777.
An official said that among 622 new cases, 545 belong to Kashmir division while as 77 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 300,221 including 293,950 recoveries and 2,431 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 172,998 including 169,913 recoveries and 2,346 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,579 including 3,840 from Kashmir division and 739 from Jammu division.
With 777 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 463,863 which is 98.024 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 622 cases today, 212 are from Srinagar, 110 from Baramulla, 62 from Budgam, 16 from Pulwama 62 from Kupwara, 24 from Anantnag, 16 from Bandipora, 14 from Ganderbal, 27 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 77 are from Jammu division that include 42 from Jammu district, 03 from Udhampur, 05 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 03 from Kuthua , 01 from Samba, 13 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 05 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,951 persons in J&K are under observation while 131 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 4,579 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,690,137 persons have completed the surveillance period and 327 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,290,562 samples are available.
“Out of 26,290,562 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,817,343 while 473,219 have tested positive, among them 4,579 cases are active, 463,863 have recovered and 4,777 persons have died,” it added.
