Shopian, Aug 14: To generate awareness among the common masses about the “Har Ghar Tiranga campaign” under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” District Administration Shopian Sunday organized a Mega Tiranga rally comprising of students, staff members of different Government educational institutions, civil society members, Anganwadi workers and Lumberdars.
Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya in presence of SSP Shopian, Tanushree flagged off the rally from the District Headquarter Office.
Hundreds of school children, staff, officers, officials and locals carrying the National Flag marched through Main Town Shopian, Gole Market and Bus stand Shopian.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the main objective of organizing this awareness rally was to sensitise the common masses about the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Highlighting the aim of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the DC impressed upon the people of the district to hoist the National Flag on the rooftop of their house.
The DC informed that a series of activities like Rallies, Debates, Quiz and painting competitions are being organized in the Schools, Colleges and other institutions in the District to encourage the youth to involve themselves in the Campaign.
