Coronavirus: JK logs 217 new cases

Srinagar, Aug 16: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported 217 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 3,757 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,779.
An official said that among 217 new cases, 204 belong to Kashmir division while as 13 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 301,169 including 295,557 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,103 including 170,179 recoveries and 2,347 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,757 including 3,180 from Kashmir division and 577 from Jammu division.
With 614 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 465,736 which is 98.20 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 217 cases today, 54 are from Srinagar, 55 from Baramulla, 20 from Budgam, 10 from Pulwama 19 from Kupwara, 28 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 00 from Ganderbal, 13 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 13 are from Jammu division that include 02 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 01 from Rajouri, 00 from Doda, 00 from Kuthua , 06 from Samba, 00 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 03 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,578 persons in J&K are under observation while 142 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 3,757 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,690,559 persons have completed the surveillance period and 341 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,315,446 samples are available.
“Out of 26,315,446 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,841,174 while 474,272 have tested positive, among them 3,757 cases are active, 465,736 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added.
