Srinagar, Aug 22: Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported 131 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 2,293 while no more death was reported in the UT in the last 24 hours and the death toll stands at 4,779.
An official said that among 131 new cases, 117 belong to Kashmir division while as 14 to Jammu division.
He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 302,779 including 298,465 recoveries and 2,432 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 173,396 including 170,638 recoveries and 2,347 deaths. He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 2,293 including 1,882 from Kashmir division and 411 from Jammu division.
With 435 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 469,103 which is 98.51 percent of the total cases.
“Among the fresh 131 cases today, 24 are from Srinagar, 37 from Baramulla, 12 from Budgam, 03 from Pulwama 17 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 15 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 14 are from Jammu division that include 07 from Jammu district, 00 from Udhampur, 00 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 01 from Kuthua , 00 from Samba, 05 from Kishtwar, 00 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” said the official.
As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,097 persons in J&K are under observation while 153 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 2,293 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 6,691,513 persons have completed the surveillance period and 359 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,374,108 samples are available.
“Out of 26,374,108 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,897,933 while 476,175 have tested positive, among them 2,293 cases are active, 469,103 have recovered and 4,779 persons have died,” it added.
