Ganderbal, Aug 23: The residents of Preng area in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Tuesday urged the Jammu and Kashmir Bank authorities to provide ATM facility in the area, saying they are being forced to travel kilometers to withdraw money.
The residents said that not even a single ATM facility has been made available from Kangan Power House To Wussan which include Kijpora, Barwallah, Arigiripora, Chinnar, Najwan and other areas.
The residents have to either travel to the main branch of J&K Bank Kangan or Wussan to avail the facility of withdrawing cash from the ATM, which are far from their residential areas.
J&K Bank has established ATMs in almost all the areas across Kashmir, but their area continues to remain ignored, they said.
Zahid Ahmed, a local resident, said that the area should get at least one ATM at the earliest. “Providing an ATM facility in the area would be a major benefit for the large population,” he said.
He said that at least one ATM should be installed in the area, as it will benefit a large population.
Meanwhile, the residents appealed Jammu and Kashmir bank authorities personally look into their genuine demand and issue orders for commissioning of ATM facilities in their areas.
