Jammu, Sep 1: The Court of Sessions Judge Udhampur convicted two accused in an NDPS Case and has awarded 10 years of imprisonment to them and also a fine of Rs two lakh each.
Principal Sessions Judge Udhampur Yash Paul Bourney convicted the duo namely Lakhbir Singh and Jatinder Singh, both residents of Ludhiana, Punjab in and FIR 179/2016 of P/S Udhampur under section 8/15/29 NDPS Act in which three persons were caught red-handed while transporting poppy straw in a vehicle at Jakhani Naka in Udhampur.
The third accused namely Prem Singh also a resident of Ludhiana Punjab is absconding after he was given temporary bail by the Court.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh congratulated the investigators and prosecutors of the case for securing conviction of the accused. (KNT)
