SPREAD-A mission for new destinations

The sports infrastructure including the playfields are already pushing the young and talented youth to the wall, the fresh statement made by the Waqf Chairperson would further add to the miseries of the sportsmen here as it is being repeatedly stated that Eidgah is meant for the Salaat only. The sportsperson across Jammu and Kashmir are already lacking the basic facilities here, which deprives them to flourish their talent to show their skills at the national and international level. However, hinting about the closure of Eidgah for the sports, one fails to understand where would hundreds of youth go. It is the time to clear the picture about the future of the youth as the government has the responsibility to come up with a suitable place for the youth to play to flourish their talent. As the Jammu and Kashmir has received huge funds for sports, there is a need to understand the fact that the sportsperson here are facing immense hardships in absence of the proper infrastructure including the playfields. There is no iota of doubt that the land is meant for the salaat, but the lack of playfields here are forcing the youth to play cricket and other games at the ground. Given the already deteriorating situation in the Valley with regard to the drug menace, there is a need to encourage the youth towards the sports and any space available for them should be developed further to bring respite among them. The administration should look into the matter at an earliest and take immediate steps to provide some relief to the sportsperson by ensuring adequate playfields for youth.
