Govt orders shifting of paediatric services of GB Pant to new hospital at Bemina

Srinagar, Sep 16: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday accorded sanction for shifting of paediatric services of GB Pant hospital to 500 bedded children’s hospital Bemina.
According to an order, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Surgical services will continue to function at GB Pant hospital.
In order to shift CD hospital Srinagar to GB Pant hospital Principal GMC Srinagar has been asked to share a detailed proposal delineating holistic action plan.
“In the interest of seamless patient care, sanction is hereby accorded to shifting of entire pediatric services of GB Pant Hospital Srinagar to newly constructed 500 Bedded Children Hospital Bemina Srinagar, by Principal, GMC Srinagar after assessing the proper functionality of all vital aspects and continuation of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Surgical Services along with dispensaries and commercial services at GB Pant Hospital Srinagar as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU),” reads the order.
It reads that for shifting of Chest Diseases Hospital Srinagar to the GB Pant by Principal GMC Srinagar, a detailed proposal delineating holistic action plan shall be shared with the Department for Procurement of Machinery and Equipment such as MRI, Other Paediatric Equipment etc, originally approved for GB Pant Hospital and its installation at newly constructed 500 Bedded Children Hospital Bemina by Managing Director, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Limited and utilization of CT Scan machine available at makeshift DRDO, hospital Srinagar for paediatric services at 500 Bedded Children Hospital Bemina Srinagar, by Principal GMC Srinagar.
