‘Back to Village’ programme revived idea of good governance: Kabra

Reasi, Nov 3: Principal Secretary Jal Shakti, Shaleen Kabra, Thursday said that the J&K Government’s unique ‘Back to Village’ programme has revived the idea of good governance and rejuvenated the spirit of public services.
Kabra stated this during his visit to Sool panchayat of Katra block as Visiting Officer under ambitious B2V4 programme.
On the occasion, he inaugurated the Water schemes under JJM in the Sool Panchayat completed at the cost of Rs 292.08Lakh. The scheme will cover 695 households and will improve the scarcity of water supply to the areas.
Inaugurating the fourth phase of Back To Village programme in Sool Panchayat of Block Katra, he said that the Programme is aimed at to improve service delivery and redress the public grievances within the shortest possible time and achieve cent percent saturation of beneficiary oriented schemes. He added that the main purpose behind the B2V is to strengthen the roots of good governance in J&K and empower the common people besides giving direction to the new governance model adopted by the UT Government.
District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Babila Rakwal and SDM Katra, Angrez Singh besides other district officers were present on the occasion.
Principal Secretary inspected the stalls set up by different departments and planted a sapling there and he also enquired about the grievance redressal mechanism being set up to meet the public demands.
He interacted with large number of people and listened to their issues and grievances. He also distributed sporting kits among school children besides presenting income and domicile and other certificates to the beneficiaries.
He also handed over Mamta Kits to newly born girl children under BBBP, wheel chairs, hearing aids, walking sticks among the persons with disabilities besides distributing sanction letters under Ladli Beti Scheme.
During the event, Shaleen Kabra inspected Aanganwardi Centres and School where children displayed various sporting activities.
