DC Baramulla interacts with PRIs, public delegations at Sangrama

Baramulla, Dec 21: As part of Good Governance Week celebration, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar accompanied by various senior officers of the district Wednesday conducted an exhaustive tour to Sangrama.
During the visit, the DC carried out various developmental activities besides interacted with PRIs, Volunteers of Swach Graha Kalika Kendra and general public to discuss the proper mechanism for Solid Waste Management in every Panchayats of the district. At the outset, the DC interacted with various Public delegations and scores of individuals who projected various developmental issues before the DC and sought the timely resolution of their grievances and demands.
On the occasion, the people put forth several demands including macdamization and widening of link and main roads, Education upgradation, irrigation pumps and canals and Electricity issue.
The DC after listening to the issues of people said that administration is keen to streamline public service delivery and added that various developmental works are being identified and subsequently approved for their execution.
The DC also also took stock of the progress on Solid Waste Management in the town considered for collection, segregation and safe disposal of household garbage.
On the occasion, the DC stressed on proper segregation and disposal of waste material including degradable and non-degradable waste generated from households on a daily basis.
She also called for immediate lifting of waste from river banks and waste dumped roadside at various locations besides instructing concerned to submit action plans and ATRs on solid waste management.
Emphasizing on intensifying the cleanliness drive in every Panchayats during the Good Governance Week celebration, the DC directed the municipality authorities to ensure lifting of the garbage from the area on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, various public outreach programmes under Good Governance Week celebration were also held at Sopore, Uri, Pattan and Tangmarg where the concerned Sub Divisional heads listened to the grievances and issues of the people meant for the overall development of the areas.
Campaigns regarding Nasha Mukt Bharat were also carried out wherein people were sensitized about the Hazards of Drugs.
