A decade of Digital India

As the government has been making efforts to retrieve the land grabbed by the influential people, the Waqf Board at the same time has made a startling revelation, claiming that 5000 properties have been grabbed by the people so far while the records about it are also missing, which indicates that even the Waqf property has not been spared by some vested interests. The Muslims across Jammu & Kashmir have been donating money at shrines, Masjids and other Waqf properties; however, there has been no visible progress on the ground as the Waqf authorities have so far failed to come up with any hospital, educational institute or other related things, thus putting question on the functioning of the erstwhile Waqf Board authorities. However, the present Waqf Board led by Chairperson Darakshan Andrabi has been putting efforts to ensure progress on the ground for which a series of steps have been taken so far and those involved in grabbing the huge amount of donations by the people have also been removed from the shrines and other religious places. Moreover, the present administration is trying to retrieve the Waqf properties grabbed by the people, therefore, there is a need to identify all these properties at an earliest and start a process to retrieve the properties at an earliest. The authorities should also take strict action against involved persons and ensure that the revenue from these properties are used for constructing hospitals, educational institutions.
