Srinagar, May 11: Tanveer-ul-Ahad – founding editor of Global News Service and newspaper The Daily Kashmir Glory— was remembered on his third death anniversary on Thursday.
A special prayer meeting was held here, wherein the entire team paid profound tributes to one of the talented and bright journalist of Jammu and Kashmir, who passed away at a young age in May 2020.
Rehan Showkat, younger brother of Tanveer, who has succeeded the latter as Editor-in-Chief of the organisations’ paid glowing tributes to the brother. “He had a great passion towards the field of journalism and it was palpable from his daily schedule. All day long he would remain glued to his desktop and would verify and re-verify even the minute details of any news story he would file, either for GNS or Kashmir Glory. All for now I can say that he has left a legacy for us all to carry forward and I, being at the helm, ask for courage and patience from the Almighty to carry forward the mission of my dearest brother with all my strength”, Showkat said in his message.
Many other team members and contemporaries of Tanveer also paid their profound tributes to the journalist, who left for heavenly abode on May 11, 2020 at SMHS Srinagar.
A prayer meeting (Fateha Khawani) was held at the home of Tanveer-ul-Ahad in Muqam-i-Shahwali, Drugmulla. People from different walks of life poured in at the renowned journalist’s residence to pay their tributes and later on took part in the ‘Fatheha Khawani’. (GNS)
