The incumbent administration in Jammu and Kashmir has introduced multiple grievance redressal portals in the past few years with an aim to address the issues of the common people, who were previously being forced to move from pillar to post to get their even small works done. However, the things have eased for the people across Jammu and Kashmir after the government came up with the portals wherein the people register their complaints, which are being addressed at a shortest possible time. These portals have certainly made the system transparent and accountable. Moreover, in a bid to enhance public service delivery and streamline grievance redressal mechanisms further, the government has ordered establishment of a separate Public Grievances Department in Jammu and Kashmir, which would certainly ease the sufferings of people further. Such a decision reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring efficient governance and addressing the concerns and grievances of citizens in a timely and effective manner. The creation of a dedicated Public Grievances Department comes as a response to the growing need for an organized and systematic approach to handle public complaints and concerns. It shows the seriousness of the government in mitigating the sufferings of people, who don’t get proper hearing and redressal at the right corner. Such a step is a welcome step and needs to be strengthened and managed like other departments so that the motive behind the move is achieved, which would bring relief to the common masses as well.
