Growing population, growing challenges

The government has been making efforts to ensure best and quality care for the patients visiting the different hospitals across Jammu & Kashmir, but what is pushing the general people to the wall is the absence of the adequate number of machines like X-Ray machines, USG and other related machines. Most of the people, who visit the hospital and are being advised to undergo the tests, are being forced to visit the private diagnostic centres and other institutions to get the tests done as the hospitals san adequate number of machines. The people are being forced to pay hefty sums outside the hospitals, but the officials concerned have not paid attention to this issue, which is resulting in severe hardships to the people. At most of the hospitals, there are only single X-ray, USG and other related machines, which is not sufficient to tackle the huge rush of the patients. Subsequently, the dates being issued by the hospital authorities or conducting these tests, are pushing the people to the wall. At this juncture, the government needs to look into the grave issue and take proper and necessary measures in this regard to ensure that the people are not pushed to the wall. The adequate number of machines, being used on the regular basis, must be enhanced in the government run hospitals, which would not only help to cater the rush of the people, but would also help the unemployed technicians to get employment as well.
