Rajouri, Jul 27: The Manjakote-Kalali road, which was a vital transportation route connecting the town with village, is now in dilapidated condition. The asphalt surface on the road has degraded significantly.
“The deteriorating condition of the Manjakote-Kalali road requires immediate attention from the concerned authorities. The road’s poor maintenance not only affects the regular flow of traffic but also raises serious concerns for emergencies. During rainy weather, the large potholes on the road fill with water, turning them into potential hazards. Imagine a pregnant woman in urgent need of medical attention; it becomes even more crucial for the road to be in a satisfactory condition. Timely access to medical facilities plays a vital role in saving lives, and this road’s current state could impede prompt healthcare services,” said a commuter who travels on this road regularly.
“To address this critical issue, it is imperative that the relevant authorities take prompt action to repair and maintain the Manjakote-Kalali road. Allocating the necessary funds and deploying skilled workers to fix the damaged sections should be a priority. Additionally, establishing proper drainage systems to prevent water from accumulating in the potholes during the rainy season is crucial. By ensuring the road is in good condition, it will not only enhance the daily commute but also allow ambulances and other emergency vehicles to move swiftly and safely, enabling efficient transportation, he said.
