Rajouri, Jul 28: The absence of a bridge in Manjakote poses a significant risk to the children residing at Bal Ashram, particularly during the rainy season when the river’s unpredictability could result in potential accidents.
“Bal Ashram serves as a home to numerous orphaned children, providing them with a nurturing environment and educational opportunities. However, a major concern arises due to the proximity of the ashram to a river without a bridge. Each day, these young students are exposed to the dangers of crossing the river to access their school, threatening their well-being. In the event of heavy rainfall, the river’s water level rises, making it treacherous for the children to navigate their way safely,” a local said.
“The absence of a bridge significantly increases the vulnerability of these orphans, leaving them at higher risk of drowning. It is crucial to address this issue promptly to avoid any tragic consequences. The construction of a bridge would provide a permanent solution, safeguarding the children’s lives and preventing potential casualties during adverse weather conditions,” said another local resident.
“There is urgent requirement for the construction of a bridge to facilitate safe passage of the children,” he said.
