Ganderbal, Aug 31: The District Administration Ganderbal Thursday facilitated live streaming of the launching of Digital Week in the UT of J&K by Chief Secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta.
In this regard District Administration Ganderbal organized a mega digital mela in the lawns of Mini Secretariat which was presided over by the Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq.
President Municipal Council Ganderbal, Altaf Ahmad, PRI members besides ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; ADC Ganderbal, Mehraj-u-Din Shah, CPO and other district officers were present on the occasion.
Stalls were set up by different departments at the venue aimed at creating awareness regarding online services launched by the government and providing online services on the spot among the general public.
Meanwhile, Chairperson DDC along with other dignitaries inspected the stalls and enquired about the online services offered by the departments.
The first day of the Digital Week witnessed immense public response and officers, experts and resource persons were seen imparting awareness among people about the available online services and information regarding Digi Locker, RAS, AwamKeAwaz, eUnnat and Mobile Dost Application.
On the occasion departments had prepared banners and distributed pamphlets showcasing the online services pertaining to their departments.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairperson DDC said that with an aim to bring transparency and ease for the public, the Government has started online services and to generate mass awareness about the online services delivery.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal gave a crux of the activities to be carried out during the week at district, sub-division, block and Panchayat levels. He informed that awareness programs will also be organized in schools and colleges to generate awareness regarding online services besides essay competitions, painting competitions and other activities related to e-governance would also be held in education institutions.
He also appealed to the citizens of Ganderbal to join these celebrations for availing online services and receive awareness about the services.
Later, sanction letters under various schemes including PMAY-G, Old Age Pension, RBA certificates, ST certificates, Revenue certificates and other sanction letters were distributed among the beneficiaries by the Chairperson DDC and other dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Nuzhat Ishfaq flagged-off a digi van from the DC Office for dissemination of awareness about online services across the district.
