School Edu Deptt to formulate National Digital Library of India clubs

Srinagar, Sep 1: In order to make e-learning and education accessible to all students, School Education Department is likely to formulate National Digital Library of India (NDLI) clubs in all government institutions of Kashmir division.
NDLI is a National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) Project, developed by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP), under the aegis of the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI).
Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has said, “NDLI Club is an initiative to promote the culture of reading and learning using NDLI’s vast resources.”
“It is a single window platform providing, learning, resources that make e-Learning and Education accessible to all, bringing to users of all demographics, digital repositories from India and the world,” DSEK said.
NDLI is an online platform for conducting learning-oriented activities, where students can enhance their core competence, sharpen their skills & hone their personality traits.
The director in a communique to Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of the region said with regard to NDLI, ‘DSEK also want to inform you that number of Institutes from all over India are already a part of NDLI and NDLI Club and using these portal, their students are getting aware of it, so that they can be benefitted out of it.’
“Once an institute gets registered in the NDLI-Club and makes its students members of the NDLI-Club, the institute gets a registration number which will be visible in the NDLI-Club portal,” DSEK said.
It further said that once the institute conducts events, it gets institutional registration certificates and students get event participation certificates.
DSEK accordingly directed the CEOs to circulate a notice for all schools of their district to set up NDLI-Club in their institute and make all students members of NDLI-Club. (KNO)
