Srinagar, Sep 27: The retired SRTC employees’ union in Srinagar held a protest on Wednesday, demanding sixth pay commission arrears.
The protesting retired employees gathered at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and raised slogans while demanding justice.
One of the protesters, said, “After serving SRTC department for 30 years, I am being forced to wait for seven years now, to get the arrears of sixth pay commission.”
“The authorities are forcing us to move from pillar to post, and we are feeling helpless now,” said Ghulam Mohammad Wani, an elderly retired worker, adding that they have approached officials many times, but nothing favourable has yielded so far.
“We appeal to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha to kindly look into the matter and ensure that the demands are fulfilled at an earliest,” he added.
