Srinagar, Oct 11: With tears in her eyes, a famous Kashmiri Pandit actress, Sandeepa Dhar, broke down on Wednesday after returning to her home in Kashmir after 30 years.
She says she had to leave her home overnight, taking with her only memories.
Sandeepa Dhar is an Indian actress born in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, into a Kashmiri Pandit family. She has appeared in Hindi films and web series. She made her acting debut in 2010 with ‘Isi Life Mein.’ For her performance in the film, she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, the Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer, and the Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow.
In a video shared on her social media platform, the KP actress showed a glimpse of her home in Srinagar while displaying her emotions and shedding tears.
In the video, she was also seen plucking a fresh apple from a tree and eating it. The actress showed the house, yard, and apple trees.
“Thirty years ago, my family was forced to flee Srinagar overnight, so we packed whatever we could into just one suitcase and fled. Now, 30 years later, we have returned to what remains of our home,” wrote the actress on her social media.
She further wrote, “The empty house stands, and all that remains are the memories we created almost three decades ago. This time, we don’t have to run, hopefully never again!”
