Srinagar, Oct 18 (GNS): The Government Wednesday posted Ashish Kumar Mishra as new police chief of Srinagar.
According to an order, Rakesh Balwal, who was repatriated to Manipur cadre recently, has been formally relieved as SSP Srinagar and replaced by Mishra.
“In pursuance of the approval of Competent Authority for premature repatriation of Shri Rakesh Balwal, IPS (MA: 2012) from AGMUT-cadre to his parent cadre i.e Manipur cadre, the officer is relieved from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, to enable him to join his parent cadre”, reads the order.
“…in the interest of the administration the transfers and postings are hereby ordered with immediate effect; i) Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police, Anantnag, is transferred and posted as Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar ii) Shri G.V Sandeep Chakravarthy is transferred and posted as Senior Superintendent of Police, Anantnag, vice Shri Ashish Kumar Mishra”, reads the order.
Notably, newly posted SSP Srinagar Ashish Mishra (IPS 2013) has huge field experience of Kashmir Valley as SDPO Sopore, SP South City Srinagar, SSP Handwara, SSP Pulwama and SSP Anantnag.
Mishra has been known for his professionalism, integrity and impartiality.
Similarly, newly posted SSP Anantnag Sandeep Chakraverti (IPS 2014) also served in Kashmir Valley in different capacities as SDPO Sopore, SP South city Srinagar, SSP Handwara, SSP Kupwara and SSP Kulgam.
Meanwhile, according to a separate order, government said that consequent upon the approval of the Competent Authority for appointment of Imtiaz Ismail Parray, IPS (AGMUT: 2009), DIG (Training) Police Headquarters, as Deputy Inspector General in Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), on deputation basis, for a period of five years from the date of the assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the Officer is relieved from the Union territory of Jammu & Kashmir, to enable him to take up the new assignment at the Centre.
“It is further ordered that Ms. Sarah Rizvi, IPS (AGMUT:2008), DIG IR, Jammu, shall hold the charge of the post of DIG (Training) Police Headquarters, in addition to her own duties, till further orders.”
