Srinagar, Dec 5: The residents of Khonmoh area in Srinagar outskirts here have demanded the authorities to introduce e-bus service to connect their area with Pantha Chowk.
The locals said many people from Khonmoh travel to Srinagar for work or studies, but had to face tremendous hardships in absence of the proper public transport.
“We have been waiting for the introduction of e-bus service for a long time now. The current bus service is inadequate and unreliable. The buses are often overcrowded, which puts the burden on the general public,” Mohammad Yusuf, a resident of Khonmoh, said.
“It takes us more than an hour to reach Pantha Chowk from Khonmoh. The e-bus service would bring respite to the people and will reduce their travel time as well,” another resident, Farooq Ahmad said.
The residents also pointed out that the introduction of an e-bus service would help reduce traffic congestion in the area.
The residents have appealed to the authorities to consider their demand and introduce an e-bus service from Khonmoh to Pantha Chowk at the earliest.
