Jammu, Dec 29: Describing Pakistan as the epicentre of terrorism, Senior BJP leader Mr Devender Singh Rana Friday said that any sort of engagement with the terribly rogue and miserably failed state in the neighbourhood is meaningless.
Interacting with media persons, on the side-lines of the weekly public hearing at the BJP headquarters Trikuta Nagar here, Nagar here along with Veena Khanna BJP State Secretary and Shalinder Vaid, BJP Additional Protocol Secretary, Devender Rana said that the national leadership has made it amply clear umpteen times that talks and terror cannot go together and therefore those jumping the line should understand that until Pakistan aids and abets terrorism there cannot be any engagement across the table.
He said the advocacy of talk with Pak, coming in the backdrop of gruesome and unfortunate recent terrorist related incidents, is all the more worrisome. He said that there is a need to be extra vigilant against the terror ecosystem that instantaneously jumps to provide cover to acts of terror. A few people may try to condone or downplay the barbarism unleashed by terrorists in terms of death and devastation caused, and continuously being perpetrated, by the Pakistani lackeys but that doesn’t change the ugly face of terrorism this part of the country has been witnessing. Also, he said, engagement with sovereign countries is a central subject and those poking noses were actually venturing out to forbidden domains and trying to carve out an unsolicited role for themselves..
Devender Rana said that terrorism emanating from Pakistan is on its last breath on the Indian soil of Jammu and Kashmir due to focused operations by the security forces, the police and more importantly the people of the Valley in particular, who are realising the dividends of peace now ever than before as economically humming Valley is booming with multifarious activities in the wake of unprecedented arrival of tourists, adventurers and sports persons.
“This momentum in socio economic activities, which might be uncomfortable for those basing their politics on boiling Kashmir for lust of power, will have to be carried forward with active cooperation of the people as per the cherished agenda of the Prime Minister, who believes in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. For realising the vision of Naya Jammu and Kashmir, it is incumbent for all to strengthen hands of Yashasvi Narendra Modiji, he added.
Referring to initiatives taken during the past over four years, Mr Rana said that Jammu and Kashmir is on its transformative journey with development, infrastructural facilities, upgraded utility services getting priority attention. Fillip in the overall growth as a result of massive investments will change the destiny of people as some mega projects of international standards are coming up. This is a continuous process that has instilled a sense of confidence about Jammu and Kashmir becoming part of India’s growth story to become the world leader under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the investments will manifest in industrialization on a mega scale thus opening vistas of opportunities for economic empowerment and generation of jobs for professionals, technocrats, educated unemployed besides skilled and unskilled workforce.
Rana heard the problems and community issues, like power, drinking water, civic amenities, road maintenance, health and hygiene etc, during the public hearing and assured that these would be taken up at appropriate forums for redressal.
