Pulwama, Jan 3: A 27-year-old paraplegic youth from Pulwama district has secured first position by showing extraordinary ‘Waste Reuse’ talent by 3D house at talent hunt in Jammu.
Mohammad Jibran, hailing from Pingalgam village, began his creative journey two years after the 2015 accident that left him paraplegic.
He expressed his excitement for securing first position by making a 3D house during an open talent hut organised by the Social Welfare department at University of Jammu last week.
“I was presented a momento and certificate for securing first position during two day talent hunt,” he said. “Getting appreciation at any stage ignites makes you more energetic that helps you to do your job more efficiently.”
Recalling the unfortunate incident in March 2015, Jibran shared, “Though the accident left me disabled for life, it became a turning point that helped me discover hidden talents. Subsequently, I started crafting various items from scrap, alongside exploring calligraphy.”
Despite the challenges, Jibran’s passion for innovation flourished after the accident.
He created an array of items, including remote-controlled cars, tanks, aeroplanes, robots and 3D art models of significant landmarks like Mecca, Madina and Masjid-e-Nabvi (SAW), as well as a Shikara.
To promote his creativity, Jibran established a YouTube channel named ‘Jibran & Art’ to connect with a wider audience.
He has actively participated in numerous exhibitions to showcase his talent and remains committed to doing so whenever an opportunity arises.
Utilising cardboard as his primary raw material, Jibran’s creations show his dedication.
He said each piece reflects his labour and is filled with emotions.
He said that those youth who say they want a platform must understand that social media is the best platform for them to showcase their talent.
In a message to all specially-abled individuals, he emphasised the importance of hard work. “Never lose hope and always strive for self-dependence,” he said, while adding that there is no alternative to success other than hard work and dedication.
