While highlighting the significance of the yatra, Rohit Kansal said that the ambitious initiative aims to create awareness among citizens about various welfare schemes and seek their participation in the spirit of “Jan Bhagidari” to ensure 100 per cent saturation of government schemes. It is the largest-ever outreach initiative of Government of India which will ensure required services are accessible to all targeted and eligible beneficiaries facilitating the last mile delivery. He highlighted the significant impact of government schemes on lives of common masses over the past decade, citing the success of Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan, PMAY, Ujjwala, Ujala, Laadli Beti and other such schemes. He proudly shared that Jammu and Kashmir has excelled in achieving universal health coverage under Ayushman Bharat scheme, a unique accomplishment in comparison to rest of the nation.
Rohit Kansal also shed light on transformative outcome of various historic schemes on lives of people while making a mention of direct transfer of financial assistance to bank accounts of farmers.
He articulated that the primary objective of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is to create awareness in every corner of the nation and ensure that all eligible beneficiaries avail benefit government schemes. He mentioned about recent reports indicating that 24.8 crore people have risen above the poverty line, largely attributed to initiatives like free ration and pension schemes.
Referring to ‘Amrit Kaal’, the period until the centenary of India’s Independence in 2047, Rohit Kansal maintained that all efforts are underway to transform the country into a developed nation while emphasising the indispensable role of public participation in this regard.
Rohit Kansal encouraged every individual to contribute towards nation development by diligently performing their duties, protecting public amenities and adopting sustainable practices like water and energy conservation.
Later, he inspected the departmental stalls aimed at raising awareness about various government schemes where the public had the opportunity to engage with representatives from different departments, gaining valuable knowledge about the diverse range of government initiatives.
An integral part of the event was the “Meri Kahani Meri Zubani” segment, where beneficiaries shared their positive experiences of government schemes. They highlighted their success stories under schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ladli Beti, Ayushman Bharat and various agricultural programmes.
